Follow the Breadcrumbs
The story of Hansel and Gretel leaving a trail of breadcrumbs to find their way back home after being abandoned by their father in the woods, has come to symbolize finding your way forward. Success leaves clues toward finding your purpose, if we follow the breadcrumbs.
There are no coincidences only synchronicities. Pay attention to what shows up for you.
Unlike the Hansel and Gretel fable, where the crumbs were left as a trail to find their way back, breadcrumbs along our paths, serve as navigation to move us forward. They are markers, clues to assist us directionally. We may not see the big picture, there is often uncertainty, but if we pay attention to the signs that show up in our lives, the clues become clearer.
It might not be comfortable stepping out of our comfort zone. The trail is unfamiliar, uncertain, and scary, thus, we resist following it and go off course. And when we go off the path, the signs don’t stop showing up! They reroute us right back to the journey we’re supposed to be on.
We must have faith and trust that what is showing up for us is leading us to our destiny. Having faith doesn’t mean the path won’t be arduous, often times it is. Challenges are a part of every day life, it’s how we react to those challenges that determines how hard or hard easy we make the trek.
Signs are everywhere. Be present, be open to receiving.
“Fairy tales give it to us straight. They tell us something profound and essential - that the woods are real, and dark, and full of wolves. That we will, at times, find ourselves hopelessly lost in them. But these tales also tell us that we are all that we need, that we have all we need - guts, smarts, and maybe a pocketful of breadcrumbs - to find our way home.” ~ Jennifer Donnelly
